Aims & Objectives

  1. To promote Revised National Control Programme in India and to assist formulate strategies which are socially acceptable and economically feasible in order to assist and strengthen the programme.
  2. To supervise & strengthen Revised National Tuberculosis Programme in the State of Delhi as State TB Training and Demonstration Centre.
  3. To provide facilities for training, teaching and research activities to fulfill these objectives.
  4. To provide outpatient facility for diagnosis, control, treatment of tuberculosis and to augment IEC activities in order to strengthen preventive aspect by educating the masses.

Functions

i. To provide outdoor patient care for patients of TB and respiratory diseases.
ii. To promote training, teaching and research in TB.
iii. To organize training activities for various health workers/personnel involved in the control and management of tuberculosis.
iv. To provide specialized diagnostic and treatment facilities for tuberculosis and other respiratory diseases patients.
v. To undertake, aid, promote, guide and co-ordinate research activities in the various aspects of Tuberculosis including basic, epidemiological, clinical and operational research.
vi. To perform all functions of State TB Training and Demonstration Centre in Delhi state.
vii. To promote National TB Elimination Programme in the state of Delhi and to assist formulate strategies which are socially acceptable and economically feasible in order to assist and strengthen the programme.
viii. To sensitize private practitioners and train them on TB notification; and access to free diagnostics, free drugs and public health action for TB patients from NTEP
ix. To support identification of high risk groups, analyze active case finding efforts of the State and TB Preventive Treatment services in Delhi
x. To facilitate TB free certification of the districts and the State of Delhi
xi. To monitor & supervise the performance of the National TB Elimination Programme in the state of Delhi.
xii. To supervise external quality assurance of laboratory activities in the State of Delhi.
xiii. To supervise and augment IEC activities in the State of Delhi.
xiv. To exchange information with other institutions, associations and societies interested in the same objects.
xv. To prepare, print and publish papers or periodicals in furtherance of the objects of the New Delhi Tuberculosis Centre and to contribute to any such periodicals.
